Check Valves FAQs

What is the material of the valves?
Valve housing is made of clear acrylic multipolymer. The inner disc is made of silicone. Both materials are medical grade and meet USP Class VI requirements.
Can the valves be sterilized?
Yes. They can be sterilized by ethylene oxide or radiation method of sterilization.
Can the valves be steam autoclaved?
No. The materials will not withstand the high temperature of steam autoclave. We can produce valves in different materials suitable for this application on special request.
How do you attach tube to valves?
You simply stretch the flexible tube over the barb. For straight valves, you can bond the tube on the inside or outside diameter using suitable adhesive or solvent.
What is the opening pressure of the valves?

Different valves have different opening pressures. Most open at less than 3 inch of water (0.1 psi or 7.5 milibar) pressure. Please click here for specific values for each catalog number.
